how WingScore works
We score every wing on the stuff that matters. Then we let your gut argue with the math. That argument has a name.

on paper7.0
with Hot Take7.5
The rubric said 7.0. The Hot Take ran warmer, so it nudged the WingScore up. A little. Never enough to lie.
step one
Five things make or break a wing. We score each one, every check-in. No single star pulled out of thin air.
Sauce and crisp do the heavy lifting. Blue cheese and celery get a vote, not a veto.
the part everyone else skips
Sometimes a wing checks every box and still doesn't move you. Sometimes a grimy little dive scores a shrug on paper and you'd drive forty minutes for it anyway. That gap is your Hot Take.
When your Hot Take and the rubric disagree, it moves the WingScore. A little. Never enough to lie. The gut can argue with the math, but it can't overrule it.
step two
Great sauce can't save dry meat. If a wing face-plants on something that genuinely matters, brilliance everywhere else can't paper over it. The WingScore takes the hit. That's not cruelty. That's having standards.
one promise
We'd rather show a dash than a guess. No spot gets crowned off two check-ins. We wait for the crowd to grow, and we always show how many people weighed in. A WingScore you can't trust isn't worth the pixels.
The rest is wings.
